Jesus Christ speaks a poem about our request for soul cleansing (as we ask him for cleansing):
Light A Fire!
Light a fire, burn it down.
Set a flame to the sound
Of past desires of my soul
Burn them up, make me whole!
Let them go from my thoughts
All the old ways, all the rot.
Never again to be my friend,
My old and cherished ways I send.
Time to change, time for new.
Time to become the mighty who
Fan the flames to raging fires,
Burning up the words of liars.
Will the past finally flee,
Incinerated and gone, to let me be?
Thoughts of failures, hurt, and shame,
Thoughts that cripple and make me lame.
I will throw them in your fire.
I will ascend and come up higher.
Not for my own comfort to win
But for your cleansing – my soul from sin.
One, two, three, new I’ll be
Igniting life within the seeds
Like forest fires around a tree.
Turning waste to fuel for me.
Light me up Lord, make me burn
Turn the millstone, grind and churn.
Let your words be my food
My meditation, all for good!
Today’s Written Word
Luke 3:16,17 NKJV John answered, saying to all, “I indeed baptize you with water; but One mightier than I is coming, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to loose. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. 17“His winnowing fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clean out His threshing floor, and gather the wheat into His barn; but the chaff He will burn with unquenchable fire.”
Psalm 24:3-5 NKJV Who may ascend into the hill of the LORD?
Or who may stand in His holy place? 4He who has clean hands and a pure heart, Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, Nor sworn deceitfully. 5He shall receive blessing from the LORD, And righteous-
ness from the God of his salvation.
II Corinthians 10:5 NIV We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
I Peter 1:6-9 NKJV In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, 7that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, 8whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, 9receiving the end of your faith—the salvation of your souls.
Colossians 3:16 NKJV Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
A Word of Encouragement
The Lord spoke this prophetic poem in the early hours of New Year’s Day. He is giving us a road map to total freedom. To be free in our soul, is to prosper and be in health. Our lives are dictated by what we choose to believe, to hold in our minds, or hearts, to make all of our decisions by, which then affects our emotions and the enjoyment of our lives. Our Savior is continuing to save us as he lights a spiritual fire in our souls, and helps us to rid our minds of all that is false, spoken by lying devils, and promoted by ungodly cultures who ignore him. We are filled with the love and faith of Jesus Christ for he lives in us. We have his power and authority to cast off the old man, renew our minds and to live in holiness. That place of abiding in him, and he in us, is attainable for all of us, and it is where the singing and dancing and rejoicing in life begin!
