God speaks of running the race of life with the right motivation:
Life is short! And it is often consumed by running the race of gathering. Paul wrote that he runs to win, but many know not where they are running to or why. Do you know? Have you thought about your many goals and how they affect your eternity? Let’s take a stroll through the usual life lists. Most people desire to have a happy marriage and family life, a satisfying career that meets their financial needs, and to feel well into their later years. These are reasonable body and soul expectations that would serve most people well. But who are you serving? Are your life choices made to satisfy your own goals and desires or mine? Perhaps some of both.
My calling to you is to come to Christ Jesus and submit to Him as Lord. As soon as you make that decision, you are filled with my spirit of light and love. All that is good and holy comes forth as you learn to walk in Christ, for he leads you to my path of righteousness, to my ways that are higher, straighter and filled with more joy and delight than any you could choose. Choose to walk in him today and find grace in turning to my way of living. Cast off the former choices of gathering and collecting money and things and begin to collect and build toward my Kingdom. Get what I have said is valuable, like wisdom and understanding. Seek my face and lay up treasures in heaven. These are worthy goals and will bring you a far greater inheritance, not just in this life, but for all of eternity.
Paul was running to win the spiritual race. He set his course to follow my Son and to be obedient in this life. He forsook physical comforts, a stable home, and labored in whatever work was needed to promote the work of the ministry. He suffered shipwreck and poverty, physical abuse and prison, and yet rejoiced in my love and truth. He left the acclaim and honor of a religious position to follow Christ and serve me. Consider your goals today, my beloved children. Are you seeking to gather honor and glory for yourselves or for me? Is the food you eat from your labors or my provision? Have you heaped up money and goods to serve those in need or yourselves? Is what you have yours or mine? What of your life in body and soul? Consider deeply the motivations of your heart and come to me in prayer and fasting, and I will reveal my plans. The eternal Kingdom is far greater than your imagination, exceeding all your expectations and worth any sacrifice! This is the great reset and the perfect time to target new goals and spend wisely.
Today’s Written Word:
I Corinthians 13:8a NKJV Love never fails.
I John 4:16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
I Corinthians 9:22-25 To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some. 23 And this I do for the gospel’s sake, that I might be partaker with you. 24 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. 25 And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things, Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.
Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Proberbs 4:7 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
Psalm 104:5 Seek the LORD, and his strength: seek his face evermore.
II Corinthians 4:1 AMP Therefore, since we have this ministry, just as we received mercy [from God, granting us salvation, opportunities, and blessings], we do not get discouraged nor lose our motivation.
A Word of Encouragement:
We have all felt like we are racing through life at times. The advertisements say we need to keep up and grab what we can so we will look and feel successful, but God says the opposite. We are called to seek God FIRST. He is the author of all life. Our physical lives are designed and given breath by God our creator. We have them to house our souls and spirits, so we can spend our lives loving Him. God says to seek relationship with Him, seek His wisdom, and seek understanding about what He says is important. For years, God has been building our character so we can begin to look and sound like Jesus Christ our Lord. God does not care about what we own, but only about how much love we have given and received. When we stand before the Lord. Let’s check our motivations for what we spend our time and money on, and celebrate our relationship with our and God!
Hebrews 10:38,39 For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry. 39 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.
