Today’s Living Word: Saturday – Lighten Up!

4–7 minutes

Jesus Christ speaks of rejoicing in this day of Atonement & cleansing:

On we go now, my precious family, upward and onward to a new and brighter future. What has been is passed and what will be is yet out of reach, but to live today in love and joy is available. What can you do about the days gone by – nothing but to forgive and forget the bad and rejoice in the good. To plan and prepare for a good journey forward is wise, but only fools live for tomorrow. Live in the moment and rejoice in this day. Be present with your loved ones and thankful for the love you share.

As the days come and go, so do the opportunities to share love with those around you. Cherish each moment and be all love and light to all you know. Open your hearts and mouths and let the love of God flow out to them. Show our love, compassion and care to those you love and lead them straight to our Father’s heart. He is the perfect parent, filled with only love for His children and always seeking to give and receive love from us. Be in his heart and will now, as we prepare for what is to come.

Moving forward requires effort and direction. Many hands make for light work as when you are moving to a new home, and many friends and family show up to help. All will be moving now from the old age into the new. What will you take with you and what shall be left behind? Good memories can be taken along for they carry joy and are easy to pack. But what of the sorrows and disappointments? Will you keep those or leave them behind? Now is the time to travel light, my brethren, to let the past go and be focused on the new and what is happening today. Become my light by living light. Keep only what is necessary to uplift and nourish your bodies, souls and spirits. Now let all else fall away. Burn off your chaff with vigor, for the fire of God cometh soon to do a work in you, and those who are prepared will be cleansed. Renew, release, refresh and be revived!

A Word of Encouragement

Our Lord Jesus is speaking of enjoying each day and showering those we love with the love of God. We cannot change the past, nor can we live in the future. Today is the day we are living and he wants us to enjoy it and celebrate the love we have be given. He encourages us to open our hearts and mouths and let the love of God flow out. This is the beginning of the Hebrew year 5785, which is “The year of the mouth – speaking Grace, Grace!” It is time for all of us to speak up and share the message of salvation and the love of God to send His son to save all who will confess him as Lord. We are told to draw near and be in His heart and will. Begin in Romans 10:9 and 10. Pray to God our Father in heaven, “God I thank you for sending your Son to pay for my sins and deliver me from all sickness. I believe he willingly suffered and died for me. I believe you raised him from the dead. I accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and savior! Amen- welcome to the eternal family!

An Action Item

He said we are all moving from the old into the new, and we can help each other. We can take along the good memories, but cast off all chaff and travel light. The fire of God is coming to do a cleansing work in us and being light hearted, light in mind and body will help us to be prepared to receive. Sounds like a great opportunity to sit in prayers of repentance, meditation and even fasting. The day of Atonement is the evening of Oct. 12th through the evening or sunset of the 13th. This is a day of fasting to focus on the cleansing we have received in the holy sacrifice of Jesus Christ. A great way to lighten up!
