Today’s Living Word – What’s In A Name?

4–6 minutes

God speaks prophecy to those who will become new:

What’s in a name? Do you recognize the meanings of names in my word, the ones I gave to my faithful who lived and walked out their destinies according to my will? What does your name mean and was it given by me? Or perhaps you are awaiting your true identity? Have you ever wondered why I changed the names of my people? It was to align their titles with who they are. I do have titles for offices in the scriptures, but the diversity of your functions in my family are much greater than the “fivefold”, as you call it. Come to me, my sweet and faithful children, and ask me your true identities. Some of you need new titles and new names to suit your new positions in our family.

What are your callings, my beloved? Are you called to love me by teaching my word in business or in family relationships? What is the meaning of the names Abram and Abraham, for he was the father of believing? And what are you named? Does it suit your assignment in this present hour, or are you ready for a more accurate name?

Many of you are at the precipice of a new life and a great adventure in your spiritual walk. Only I can lead you to understand my destiny for each of you. O my precious children, this is the moment for which you were made! I have fashioned you in the womb and have overseen your every step. I have sent my faithful, and my angels and my Son to help, direct, teach, and train you all along the way. This is your new debut, your big reveal.

So come to me in awe and reverence of who I have made you! Ask of me, and I will reveal your purpose and true identity. I will show you scenes of glory and words of praise for your obedience to my leading. Do all in harmony with me and strive not for man’s approval but press toward my will and seek to win my approval. The race is not to the swift but the faithful and obedient. Be new my children. Be in Christ today. Become who I have called you to be. Be at peace as you fulfill your destiny.

Today’s Written Word

Genesis 17:5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.

Abram: meaning “exalted father“.

Abraham: meaning “Father of a multitude of nations”.

Genesis 18:18 Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?

Romans 4:16 Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abrahamwho is the father of us all,

Hebrews 11:18 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.

I Corinthians 6:11 AMP And such were some of you [before you believed]. But you were washed [by the atoning sacrifice of Christ], you were sanctified [set apart for God, and made holy], you were justified [declared free of guilt] in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the [Holy] Spirit of our God [the source of the believer’s new life and changed behavior].

II Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

A Word of Encouragement

We are encouraged to ask God who He has made us to be. We can ask of Him, “Do I have the right name”? Or “Is there a new name that suits me better”? Perhaps you have recently discovered your true passion in life, and now you are ready to venture out and give it a try. Be brave and live as God have called us to live.

An Action Item

God said “Come to me, my sweet and faithful children, and ask me your true identities.” Are your called to serve on a greater scale than in the past? Do you feel led to the financial sector, or the school board, or politics? This is the time for which you were made! We can accomplish all God has called us to do, with joy and ease as we are led in the spirit. We can do it!
