Jesus Christ speaks to the soon-to-be-delivered:
Who will turn to their Lord and Savior and ask to be cleansed? I am here, my brethren. I am willing to help you clean up your lives and be free from those old memories, old habits that bring shame, and past mistakes that you would like to forget. I will wash them from your minds and cleanse your souls of the damage the evil ones have caused. You do not need to be plagued by them one minute longer. Come to me, your Savior, who will save you every day. I will stitch and mend your hearts back to whole and healthy as you surrender your past and futures to me.
What do you have to lose? Burdens, guilt and shame, perhaps a few minutes of your busy schedules? I am sent by our Father to restore you in every way; physically I will heal every cell, bone, and system within you as you but ask and believe. Mentally, I can hear your every thought and know your secrets. I am aware of your fears of defeat, lack of acceptance and doubts of the “what ifs”. You can trust me completely, for I am a complete savior and I will save you to the uttermost detail. This is not a magic show or a one time burst of healing as in an alter call. The Father and I are refreshing our Church in every way. As you learn and grow in your spiritual walk, we also heal and refresh you in mind and body. It’s a process, you might say.
As you are bold and courageous to ask me what you need to let go of – I will bring specific things to your mind and you can decide to forgive and forget. Some memories will be easy and others will need to be deeply considered and prayed over. Those who have deep burdens, deep hurts and long-term damage over decades will need to root out and dig up some painful hurts from the past. Do not allow yourselves to be bound, my brethren, but come unto me in faith and expectation. Believe and trust that I will deliver you all from all darkness and you shall be delivered indeed.
Today’s Written Word
Cleansed, katharizō = G2511: to make clean, be clean, purge, purify.
Luke 17:13 – 15 And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.
And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed.
And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,
Luke 17:17, 19 And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.
II Timothy 2:19, 21 – 23 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.
Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.
II Timothy 4:17 Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.
A Word of Encouragement
Our Christ is our complete savior who saves to the uttermost. We can trust him to heal us, restore us, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. We can live in health and peace as we ask our Lord to help us heal in our bodies and souls. We are new and free in Christ, but sometimes the old scars can hold us back. Let’s be bold and courageous to ask him “what do I need to let go of”? and be expecting his loving help. Being a Christian is not just cleaning up our lives on the surface, but it is often a deep work in the Lord to find complete healing and freedom, and that’s encouraging.
An Action Item
Jesus Christ promised the 12 apostles that he would be with them unto the ends of the earth. After his ascension into heaven, in Mark 16:20 the scripture records that they went forth, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Our Lord and savior is with us, and in us, and helping and healing us as we go and grow. We can ask him to help us overcome our past and lead us joyfully into our blessed futures. Praise God for sending His Son to deliver us all!
