Jesus Christ answers a believer’s question, “What is best for today?”

Love the Lord thy God with all my heart, soul, mind and strength, and love thy neighbor as thyself. Seek wisdom, not signs or sights. Get understanding with all thy getting and doing. Pray earnestly and stand staked in truth. Rely not only on your senses of natural seeing, hearing, smelling. When alarming sensory input comes- it would be best to limit what you receive naturally. Pretend you are without these senses for a moment and focus your mind on spiritual perception to discern what is true. If you were blind, deaf, and unable to smell, your spiritual senses would sharpen and heighten. A blind person develops a perception of their environment through keen hearing and touch and smell. Learn to play down reliance on your sight and hearing to favor spiritual perception.

It is a good practice to spend time in prayer in a quiet place with eyes closed so you can learn to see and hear more in the spirit. Seeing is not believing – believing is believing. Trusting your eyes and ears alone can lead to deception. Trust God, trust me, Christ. Truth from God is in the living rhema word and the written Holy Scripture. Your life needs to include time in prayer, Bible reading, worship and praise of God, and thankful, faithful listening for our voices in your spirit. These are the days for fidelity to God, integrity, and faithfulness with God. Truly trust God, and your Lord Jesus Christ.

Don’t just say or think, “I lean not on my own understanding” but actually, practically trust not your self-knowledge, old understanding, experiences, or prior sincerely held beliefs in new situations. You must learn to walk in each moment alive to your Father and me your Lord, discerning by manifestation of your spirit touching our Spirit for truth in the moment. Stay in the light of truth, shun the deceptions of spiritual darkness. Exercise your spiritual senses to the full use and strength. Speak out truth. Speak in our authority. Resist all lies and deceptions of evil and command truth with energized, revelation power. You must be an active son in your rights and privileges in the Family of God, the present Church of the Living God. Stand tall, faithful, true, strong in believing, powerful in and for your Lord Jesus Christ as I lead and command the Family of God in all His will.

Love the Lord thy God: Luke 10:27 And he (Jesus) answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself. Get wisdom and understanding: Proverbs 4:7 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.

Proverbs 19:8 He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul: he that keepeth understanding shall find good. Words of wisdom and understanding, and faith (believing) are manifestations of the gift of
spirit.:

1 Corinthians 12: 7-9 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. For to one (manifestation) is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another (manifestation) the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; To another (manifestation) faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;

Prov 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

Hebrews 5:14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

1 Kings 9:4 And if thou (Solomon) wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded thee, and wilt keep my statutes and my judgments

A Word of Encouragement

As a believer sat in the quiet of the early morning writing out his prayers and thankfulness to God, he wrote: “Prepare me Lord for today and the days ahead. I want to do thy will O Father, my God. So many things to do – what is best for today?” The Lord Jesus Christ inspired him by speaking in spirit the answer written above. Our Father God and our Lord Jesus Christ are always with us and
ready to answer our honest questions and prayers. The new birth, with spirit from above, connects us with them and provides the route for communication. It’s a spiritual connection for “hearing” that bypasses our ears and communicates with our minds. He found the instructions and exhortations to be very encouraging, comforting and strengthening for that day and the days ahead.

An Action Item

Christ Jesus’ answers of instruction and exhortation are certainly based in Scripture. We want to read from the Bible daily to know God’s Word that is the foundation of truth to rely solidly on. Our Father and our Lord have exhorted many times to pray and listen spiritually for answers of peace, assurance, love, leading, guidance and encouragement so we can move confidently forward in our days and lives. It is a very good practice, just as Jesus Christ did when he walked on Earth, to take time in the morning for prayer and communication with God. It is a good habit and discipline to develop, and it is truly strengthening for the daily walk in Christ.
