Christ Leads the Brave
Why do some Christians feel stuck in a rut? Are they treading and retracing the same path over and over again? Some are, but some are following others who lead them in circles. It is a difficult thing to step out of step with the people you have trusted. Are they aware and do they know, you ask? Some do and I will be delivering justice to them, but most are deceived. Ask yourselves, is this place I always go, or this thing I always do, bringing joy and power? Look especially closely at your spiritual and religious choices- where and when you spend time with God, and how you feel when you do.
This is your life and you only get one upon the earth. You are given one body and soul and one time to live for God, and walk with me, your Christ. What will you do with the days you have remaining? Will others choose for you, or will you step into a glorious future filled with new adventures and powerful exploits?
All is becoming new now. All you have done in the past is gone and the turning has begun. Some will turn toward me and receive thrills and chills, and wealth and health, and a whole new way of living by the spirit, and some will not. Those who are stubborn, set in their old ways or too tired to turn, will not go forward with us into the new. They will be left to walk in their old trenches of powerless repetition. Invite them to join us but do not go down into those trenches for you may become stuck in their muddy ruts.
Travel forward with me – lighten every load, throw off the stale and run toward the bright, shiny future with me. Be as dynamic, as free and flexible as you can be. Listen to my direction and obey all. Heed my calling and my warning. Today is your breakthrough, break forth, breaking of bands of old bondage day!
Today’s Written Word
Matthew 15:12-14 Then came his disciples, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended, after they heard this saying? But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up. Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.
Blind, typhlos, Strong’s G5185; opaque (as if smoky), i.e. (by analogy) blind (physically or mentally); metaphorically blind
Hebrews 9:27 And just as it is appointed and destined for all men to die once and after this [comes certain] judgment,
Galatians 5:24,25 And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live (be in full vigor) in the Spirit, let us also walk (direct our life) in the Spirit.
Hebrews 12:1,2a NKJV Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto Jesus, the [a]author and [b]finisher of our faith,
A Word of Encouragement
Today the Lord Jesus Christ exhorts us to not be snared in traditions and relationships that hinder us from going fast and far with him. He instructs us specifically to consider our spiritual and religious choices and how we feel when we attend meetings. Christ wants us alive and energetic and excited about spiritual life – living in and walking by the spirit – dynamic, free and flexible!
An Action Item
Our Lord Jesus clearly wants each person to honestly consider how and where we conduct our spiritual lives. He reminds us we have only one life to live, as he said, “You are given one body and soul and one time to live for God, and walk with me, your Christ”. So let’s heed Christ’s directions to lighten every load, throw off the stale (that which is dry, repetitive and lifeless) and run forward in fresh spiritual life, which is a dynamic relationship with God and with His Son Jesus Christ.
