Today’s Living Word- Love is Patient and Forgiving

4–6 minutes

Christ speaks to all who need love.

Love is patient and kind, yes- but honest too. We can be direct with those we love. We let them know when they have hurt or offended us, and we speak up when a division arises. There is a great chasm building in my church, my brethren, one that will be too far and wide to bridge. One that you can mend now if you will obey my voice.

Those who have left the old ways are now hearing me and moving into a bright and glorious day of blessing beyond measure. Those who have held to the old are not. Many will have division in their houses, marriages, and families over the choice of whom to follow. Follow me now – not the doctrines of men, nor men. Lead those you love to repent and ask forgiveness and some will turn. Some will not, and they will have not.

Be quick to forgive the mockers and love the slow in spirit, for they have been deceived and not chosen disobedience. To function effectively and make wise choices, one must be able to see and hear. Many in our family are walking about as deaf and blind and cannot see what is before them. Open their eyes by revealing my words and show them the way. Speak in their ear with love until they understand.

The new is coming to your homes whether you are prepared or not – new leaders, new laws, new foods and new money. Be renewed in me your Christ. Be as I am in peace and love to all. Do not chide the lost and disobedient, but love them with the love of Christ. I will lead you and be your bridge. Help them crossover from cynical unbelief to trusting in my care.

Today’s Written Word

Luke 16:26 And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, in order that those who would pass from here to you may not be able, and none may cross from there to us.

Chasm, chasma , Strong’s G5490; a gaping opening, a chasm, gulf

Luke 8:15 But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

Heard, akoúō, Strong’s G191; to hear; the sense in this verse is: to attend to, consider what is or has been said

Jude 17-19 But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.

Mockers, empaiktēs Strong’s G1703; a mocker, a scoffer, one who derides

Exodus 17:2 Wherefore the people did chide with Moses, and said, Give us water that we may drink. And Moses said unto them, Why chide ye with me? wherefore do ye tempt the LORD?

Chide, rîḇ, Strong’s H7378; strive, contend with words

A Word of Encouragement

Christ Jesus speaks of relationship matters in the present and in the future. He encourages us to be honest and direct with those we love, and to speak up when there is hurt or offence. As we speak in love, differences can be resolved and relationships mended. As in personal relationships, brethren in the church of Christ have developed divisions based on beliefs and levels of willingness to hear and believe revelations from God and Christ. Some have heard and moved forward quickly and some are “slow in spirit” and refuse to leave old ways. But some people are now hearing and turning to follow Christ. We are instructed to love them, to quickly forgive the former mockers and to not chide the disobedient, but love them with love of Christ.

An Action Item

There are strivings and contentions both inside and outside the church of Christ. Our action item is to love the lost, the disobedient, the hard hearted, the cynical unbelievers, and even those presently mocking us. We need to graciously extend the love of Christ Jesus our Lord. Some will hear and turn to follow Christ. The body of Christ will be enlarged and strengthened as we live in love toward others. Let’s build unity by walking in that love today!

Victories and Blessings

What a joy-filled fellowship yesterday, with new light being taught about the manifestations of the gift of holy spirit from God. We read, studied and practiced interpretation of tongues. It is prayer and praise to worship our Father God and edify the body of believers. Let us speak in tongues often and spend time in sweet fellowship and adoration of our mighty God. A special thanks to the folks who brought food to share. It was a nourishing time together.

Please share some of your victories, blessings and prayer requests so others can rejoice and believe with you.
