Today’s Living Word – Sweet Fruit

3–5 minutes

God our Father speaks prophecy to the hungry:

What is your appetite for my people? Do you crave some fresh fruit, or an exotic dessert? How about a crunchy apple tart with ice cream on top? I have made these for your enjoyment and you are drawn to the sweet things in life. What about your spiritual life? Do you crave the sweet fruit of the spirit? Are you planting a spiritual vineyard to grow vines that will give you all the fruit of the spirit in abundance?

My word gives you a list of my fruit, but few understand the great delight that comes from it. Love from a close family member can refresh, heal, comfort, energize and sustain you. Joy is the emotional response to walking in fellowship with me. It strengthens your heart to continue in the most challenging of times. The closer you walk with me in Christ the more joy will flow. Peace is the stillness and rest in me that results when you are assured of my care in every situation. Peace is life without cares.

Longsuffering and gentleness are always seen as gifts to others but you are also the recipients of my patience and gentle speech. Goodness and faithfulness are what overflows from our daily fellowship. I pour out my goodness to you and you share it with others. The faithful shall abound with blessings. As you do my will, abundance flows to you and overflows so all can enjoy. Meekness and temperance are fruits of maturity. To remain in submission to my will and to be willing to hear me, and any I send, is to walk in wisdom. The meek shall inherit the earth is a promise to those who develop their spiritual man to maturity for they will rule in my Son’s kingdom. And temperance is one of the sweetest and most elusive fruits to grow. You have been given free will my children, the freedom to choose. To be temperate in all things is to have the understanding to both know my will and to choose to do it.

Ask of me and I will teach you. Practice my word as though you are starving for those sweet delights and crave the nourishment from me in my daily bread. I have offered my written word to instruct you and my living word to refresh you. Be satisfied in my word. Be delighted in my word. Be living in my word.

Today’s Written Word

Galatians 5:22,23

But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Ephesians 5:8 – 11

For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:

(For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)

Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.

And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

Matthew 6:11 Give us this day our daily bread.

II Samuel 22:20 He brought me forth also into a large place: he delivered me, because he delighted in me.

A Word of Encouragement

What a wonderful God we have, to give such revelation to us! He gives us understanding so we can practically apply the word in the category of growing spiritual fruit. As Christians we are known by our fruit and we can enjoy every day greater when we are producing God’s good fruit of the spirit. We are also blessed to receive the fruit of the spirit from God toward us, as he gives us of his goodness so we can share it with others,

An Action Item

Let’ go out the door of our homes with a heart to share of God’s good fruit today. Let’s give his love to another, and share our genuine joy in living for Him. He has given us peace, a life truly without cares, for we can cast all our cares upon Him. We can show others how God’s blessing, goodness and sweet fruit are available for those with an appetite for spiritual understanding.
