God our Father speaks prophecy to the humble:

Come and learn of me today. Open my book of life and read my letters to you. I have spoken them to my scribes and prophets and had them protected for thousands of years so you could read them. They are life and power to you. Ask of me for I will give you wisdom and understanding, my children. I am your Father and I care greatly for you. Not all that are called to me will come – for many hear not. But you have heard and you are mine for all of eternity. Many wonders and joyful surprises I have awaiting you in heaven. Your eternity with me will be far beyond your most extravagant expectations. No sacrifice of time or personal pleasure can compare to the enormous blessings to come. Be willing to learn my children. Be willing to humble your own will to mine and to your Lord. “Do yourself a favor” you would say. “Choose life”, I say. Choose the way of holiness and power in walking with me now and forever.

What are your reasons for choosing other activities over time with me in reading and prayer? Are you too tired? Then turn of the TV and go to bed. Start your day by refreshing your mind and spirit in my written word and then sit and listen to my spoken word in your ears to give wisdom for your day. It will be well with you, for you will be with me. Are you busy with work? Then pray in the spirit all day while you work. It will build your spirit and offer praises to me. The most real part of your being is your spirit. It is the only eternal part. The body and soul will become dull and slow when the spirit is not active. Awake, awake, rise up my children. Come alive and walk and talk with me. The life of victors is awaiting your participation. All that is delicious has been laid before you as a banquet fit for kings and queens. Come to the banquet; come to me in Jesus Christ. Come to me in the holiness and power of the royal priesthood I have made you in him. Sleep not, but come!

Today’s Written Word

2 Peter 1:19-21 NKJV ¹⁹And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts; ²⁰knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, ²¹for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

heed: prosecho – to turn the mind to, attend to, be attentive

prophecy: propheteia – discourse emanating from divine inspiration

private interpretation: idios epilysis – no self thought out ideas were put upon God’s inspired words

moved: phero – as used in this verse, borne along

Psalm 16:11 NKJV You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

1 Peter 5:6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:

humble yourself: tapeinoo – to humiliate, as used in this verse, to submit oneself in a lowly spirit to the power and will of God

1 Corinthians 14:15 What am I to do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will pray with my mind also; I will sing praise with my spirit, but I will sing with my mind also..

Ephesians 6:18 praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints,

Micah 6:8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

1 Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:

A Word of Encouragement

God assured us of the integrity and value of His scriptures by protecting them for thousands of years so we who are living now could read them. And just as they were when God first revealed them to His prophets, the scriptures are still life and power to us. Any time that we desire more wisdom and understanding of God’s word, we can simply ask Him because He cares for us and wants us to know and understand His truths and purposes. James 1:5 in the NASB reads: But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

An Action Item

Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have conversational relationships with our Father God and with His Son Jesus Christ in this day and time as Adam did in the Garden of Eden? There are verses in Genesis chapters 2 and 3 that tell us some of the communications between God and Adam. God is spirit and Adam had spirit along with his body and soul. By that spirit connection, God and Adam literally communicated. In this Church age we live in now, the age of Grace, God made it available by Jesus Christ for people to receive spirit again and have a direct line with God for communication. God gave us an action item in His prophecy today saying, Start your day by refreshing your mind and spirit in my written word and then sit and listen to my spoken word in your ears (spiritual ears) to give wisdom for your day. It will be well with you, for you will be with me. Let’s do it!
