Today’s Living Word – Seeking

4–6 minutes

Our Lord Jesus Christ speaks to the Church:

Come near, lean in. Can you hear it? Can you hear the thousands of souls that are asking why? Why is life so hard and how can we possibly overcome? Where is God and why has He left us alone? Or has He? Perhaps they are seeking Him in the wrong places. The Living God is not in churches that are dead. He is not in those who shout and weep to gain your applause and attention for themselves. He is not working with those who ask you to buy prayers, nor send your money to “plant seeds of prosperity, or give until you are empty”.

The true God is all love. He is where you find His family serving one another in humility. God is in His word, where all is clear and easy to be understood. God has not left His people – but many have left Him. Many have stopped seeking him where the faithful gather or reading His words to find His answers to life’s challenges. They do not sit in prayer each morning, nor thank Him for the meals and blessings they receive each day.

Some have sought after our Father but given up when obstacles came. Some have found Him for a time, but been distracted by the cares of this world. Some have rejoiced for a season, but evil attacked and bound them from taking root. God is light, and without Him – life is only darkness, and who can see in the dark?

Shine into that darkness my brethren. Turn up your lamps and gather your whole armor and get moving! Answer the call to rescue the lonely and impoverished. Heal the sick and cut loose the bands that hold them captive. Represent God in this world and shine unto them. Say “here I am” and show them the way back to their loving Father. Show them His love and His power and His abundance, and His joy. Fill the earth with His glory now and bring His will to pass for all who seek him. Obey quickly my brethren, for their cry is mighty upon the earth.

Today’s Written Word

Luke 8:5-8 A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it.

Luke 8:6And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture.

Luke 8:7And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it.

Luke 8:8And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Luke 8:11-15Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.

Luke 8:12Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.

Luke 8:13 They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.

Luke 8:14 And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.

Luke 8:15 But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

A Word of Encouragement

Our hearts are heavy when we hear of the despair and hopelessness that so many are suffering from today. We can step forward and help rescue them. Christ said that they are crying out, but may be looking for God in the wrong places. Many of us have sought God in places where we found no help, love or acceptance. Let’s speak of our mighty God to all with love and open arms to His family. Let’s manifest His kindness and be His welcoming committee.

An Action Item

Where have you sown the seeds of the word of God? Are there new fields nearby? The Lord could be sending us out to areas we may not have considered sowing in before. We can spend some time in prayer, asking for His leading and direction. Perhaps a person or place will come to mind and we can shine brightly today, and manifest God’s love.

Victories and Blessings

We are receiving more reports of healings. A wonderful Christian disciple who was with us for our day of prayer, received healing in her ankles. They were locked stiff and she could not bend or twist them, which made walking very uncomfortable. Just after praying for her and ministering, she moved her feet and both ankles cracked! “Wow, we heard that!”, was spoken by those near her. She reported deliverance and was showing us how flexible they are now. Praise God for He is very good to His children.

Please share some of your victories, blessings and prayer requests so others can rejoice and believe with you.
