Today’s Living Word -The Banquet

5–7 minutes

God our Father speaks prophecy:

In times of plenty we pick and choose from what is readily available. Like at a splendid banquet with every delicacy and variety of dishes, your preferences are easily fulfilled and you are joyfully satisfied. You may take far more than you need and taste a variety of foods, only eating what is most delicious to you. But what if you came to the banquet and nothing was prepared? Or what if the host had only one dish to offer and it was one you did not prefer? Would you gladly enjoy the gathering and be glad you came? Perhaps you would turn your focus on those at the banquet and not the food.

You might ask how they are doing, or what blessings they are enjoying, or what challenges of life they may be experiencing? “How can I help?” you might ask. “Do you need something I have to give?” What if every guest had prepared something to give before arriving, and came not only to receive but to give? A good word of encouragement, or a gift to give away to someone in need, or perhaps a tasty dish multiplied by a hundred different guests? What then?

Every gathering of my people is an opportunity to bless. It is for me to give instruction and encouragement. To feed my children spiritual nourishment of every kind and to meet every need and desire or your hearts. I am a bountiful God and I have called you to a spiritual banquet filled with my plenteous bounty of good gifts. You will NEVER arrive to an empty table in MY CHURCH! If your mouth is dry and your belly empty of spiritual food, you are in the wrong gathering.

Come to me as young birds with mouths open, reaching up and seeking my nourishment. Cry out for my bread of life. I have given my Son to be your light and to show you the way to my abundance. To open the doors to my Kingdom and dress you for the royal celebration and banquet I have prepared. Come now by beloved and seek me with your whole heart. Know that you will not be disappointed in your efforts to prepare, for I am coming. Soon I will make a grand entrance upon the earth and all will see clearly what they have only had a glimpse of before. Be inspired by me to daily rise up in service, in generosity, in kindness, in prayer. I am calling, are your listening? Have you received my invitation? Will you attend the great banquet? Come now. Come all. Come unto me quickly, for I am calling you now!

Today’s Written Word

Psalm 23 (notice all of the bounty God provides)

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.(I shall have no lack)

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still (quiet, restful) waters.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table ( God lays out a kingly banquet in front of us) before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest ( become fat, become prosperous, anoint) my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever. (We are now the temple of God)

I Corinthians 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

A Word of Encouragement

God has promised us great plenty and abundance, a banquet to meet every request and desire according to his will. But it’s not about the food. We are given all we need in the physical realm so we can focus on spiritual things. What emotional deliverance do we need? How about our families and friends? Could we offer prayers for them, asking God to deliver exactly what they need? He has said He has a banquet of every kind of spiritual gift prepared for us. Let’s ask.

An Action Item

God asked us “What if everyone prepared something to give before arriving?” I love that! We all have many opportunities to go to events and gatherings this month. Let’s ask our Father in heaven what is needed before we go. Is there a verse we could share that would answer a spiritual question? Could we pray for someone or bring a gift to meet a need? God is working in each of us to bring his deliverance to his family. Let’s listen to Him and act upon his leading.

Philippians 2:13

For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Victories and Blessings

We are all very blessed to have our needs met in abundance. I found the message today kind of ironic. I went out shopping yesterday for Christmas lights. I wanted the tiny little multi-colored ones for our little tree. After going to several stores that had NO LIGHTS left, I finished my last errand and went to the car to drive home. I really wanted those lights! I thought, and just then the next thought was from the Lord. “You might find them at the drug store. Nobody buys Christmas lights there 🙂 It was a half block ahead, so I stopped in. Of course they had the lights, and of course they were half price! Every detail of our lives is important to our Father and to our Lord Jesus Christ. They care about every desire of our hearts, even when it’s as small a detail as Christmas lights.

Please share some of your victories, blessings and prayer requests so others can rejoice and believe with you.
