Today’s Living Word – Give

4–6 minutes

God our Father speaks prophecy:

What to do today you ask? Well, I could tell you how to serve in my church but you may not have the time. I could tell you who to help but you are probably busy. I could send you where I have people praying and asking for my help, but you may not be going there. Or I could help you with more understanding of my word so you will be better equipped for your next opportunity to speak to someone in need. What is your desire my children? Do you want to serve me? Are you really desiring to give genuine help and comfort to another, or are you doing your duty so you can check it off your list?

Yes, I know what time of year it is and I know your responsibilities are many. But helping another person in need does not require much time. It is more a decision than an event. Decide to offer a kind word to a stranger or open a door for a person with packages. Many of you already do those things so perhaps cook an extra dish of food when you are preparing dinner and take it to someone who is alone or elderly. Invite a friend who is lonely to work, eat or shop with you and share some fellowship. Ask me who and how to connect with, and I will reveal my will to you.

What is on your prayer list of requests? Deliverance for your children? The ability to increase your abundance? Healing? I will give all of those to you as you serve me and seek my will above your own. Set aside your own comforts and desires and do as I ask. Reach out to those you know are needing help and be joyful in giving of your love, time, and abundance and I will multiply your seeds sown. Make an invitation to include the lost in our family during this season and I will give generously all of my best gifts to you.

A Word of Encouragement

Who can find a willing heart? God is calling out to us to give of our time, and love, and resources. Of all of the times of year to be open to selfless service, this may be the most challenging . . . and the most needed. So many of God’s children are fighting loneliness and lack. It should not be this way. We are filled with the love of God and can give genuine help and comfort to those in need. Even without praying or putting out a big amount of effort or time, we can have a great impact on someone else’s life. When was the last time you really needed a friend, and God sent help. Let’s be the helpers of his joy.

An Action Item

As we sow we reap. As we plant seeds of hope, it grows. Our heavenly Father has called us to serve out of love and promised to care for us as we do. He reminds us that all of our prayers and needs will be met as we seek Him and His will each day. Give and it shall be given. Some of the people with the greatest need are the most generous. What are you inspired to do today to help those in need? We are fellow workers with God and He will help us know what to do, who to help, and where to go today.

Victories and Blessings

Last night a new friend did exactly what God is encouraging all of us to do today, and I must share how she blessed us! She made dinner for John and me and delivered it to our door at the perfect time. It was an absolutely delicious meal and met a big need as we were getting ready for our weekly Board of Directors meeting and I did not have a meal prepared. Praise God for working in the faithful to give and bless others.
