God our Father speaks prophecy:
What are you thankful for my children? Your families, yes. Your lovely homes, yes. But what of spiritual matters? Do you come to me in prayer to rejoice in all I have given you? A spirit that is eternal and incorruptible, a life filled with my blessings and joy, a walk of peace in harmony with me your Father God are only a few of the promises I have delivered on. Be active in your worship of me today my children. Take some extra time to meditate on my goodness and count, yes, actually write down and number the endless gifts I have bestowed upon you. Will you obey? Or are you too busy with what you have planned today? Sacrifice some time for me and I will reward you openly, richly and in the face of despair will I honor your prayers. Come unto me in peace and plenty. Do not wait for chaos and famine to turn to your God.
Today is a holiday – a “day off” (Websters: a day of festivity or recreation when no work is done), and yet most of you will work from sun up to sun down. Stop spinning my children! Simplify your lives and schedules and open up some time to rest in me your provider. Ask me what is important to spend your time on. Is it shopping for more things to give to others out of habit or obligation? Do you spend money you do not have on things you do not need? Do you follow the pattern of your nation to send billions of dollars to fund wars across the oceans while your United States is filled with children who are starving here at home? What should you spend your time and money on? Ask me my children, for I see the needs of those who are crying out for help. Those who are hungry and weary of the battle for basic necessities.
The time has come to balance the scales of justice. In a land filled with plenty there should not be such suffering. Do not look away but engage to help. Ask me what you can do and I will show you my will. I will bring one need to your attention at a time. Give and it shall be given – trust in me your God who provides.
Today’s Written Word
Luke 6:28-38
But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,
Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.
And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also.
Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.
And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.
For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.
And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.
And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.
But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.
Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:
Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
A Word of Encouragement
Today we hug those we have not seen in a while and feed each other with the best of all that God has blessed us with. It is a day of giving thanks, a day of sharing of all our blessings. Let’s take some time to recognize our Heavenly Father for all He has given us. We can sit in prayer this morning, before the activities of the day, or go for a long walk after our big meal and pray to Him with thanksgiving and love. Do not miss the opportunity God has given us to rest in Him. To stand in His peace and to connect with Him in spirit. Today is a day to give God our prayers of thankfulness.
An Action Item
Do you know of a person who is lonely or alone. Call out to them. Bring them a meal, a hug and a coat to warm them. Invite them to join your family in fellowship and the abundance God has blessed us with. Shower them in love and blessings and YOU will be the one who gets the most joy in the giving. Let’s lead in love.
